Ayurvedic Detox Daily Tea | Helping Our Bodies Detox from this Crazy World.

Updated: Nov 17, 2021

Ayurvedic Detox Tea- a “daily” tea to help aid digestion, the liver, flush out toxins and restore balance in the body. Healing and restorative. Who can argue with that?

This simple Ayurvedic Daily Detox Tea supports our body’s natural ‘detoxification process’. And with the world we live in today, it’s likely that detox process is happening allll day long. What we ingest goes beyond just the food we put into our bodies but also what we put ON our bodies and the environment in which we surround ourselves in. So sometimes we don’t always need an intense detox overhaul, but some daily, gentle help. Like this tea!

The basics of this Ayurvedic Tea are known as CCF Tea. An acronym for Cumin-Coriander-Fennel. The alchemy of these three spices creates a powerful digestive cleanser. In Ayurveda, a 3000 year old science of wellness, it is known that all imbalances can begin in the gut and supporting gut-health is the key to wellness and health.

Ayurvedic Daily Detox Tea | RECIPE

You can start with the traditional basic ingredients and add more to your liking. The amounts are a guideline so feel free to add more or less.

The traditional Ayurveda Detox CCF Tea Ingredients:

  • 1-2 teaspoons coriander seeds

  • 1-2 teaspoons cumin seeds

  • 1-2 teaspoons fennel seeds

Additional optional wellness + goodness Ingredients:

  • 2 Teaspoons ground turmeric ( or ½” fresh grated or thinly sliced turmeric)

  • 1/2 Teaspoons ground ginger ( or ½” grated or thinly sliced ginger)

  • 1 bag of: green tea, mint tea, chamomile or ginger tea

FLAVOR ADD-ONS:

  • squeeze of lemon

  • sprinkle of cinnamon, clove, cardamom pods , peppercorns or anise

INSTRUCTIONS:

Boil water. Simple right?

Place seeds, turmeric and ginger and tea in a french press or tea pot infuser and let steep for 5 minutes.

Or add all ingredients together for 5 minutes in a large pot. Strain, before drinking.

Drink after meals or slowly throughout the day.

Notes:

This can be made ahead and refrigerated, then reheated as needed. Drink warm or at room temperature.

I like to make a ‘batch’ and combine all the dry ingredients and spices together then use 1-2 tablespoons per cup when I make an individual amount. To make a batch combine all the dry ingredients (without the tea bags) and store in a mason jar. So triple or quadruple or decuple (yeah I said it…do you know how much that is?) the amount for each ingredient. Mix well before using.

Enjoy + happy detox!
